The first Pacific Northwest Quantitative Wildfire Risk Assessment (PNW QWRA, see report Here) was released in 2018.  Since it’s release, the PNW QWRA has been used been used by fire and resource managers, community planners, natural hazard planners, and others to manage fires and mitigate risk.

Oregon and Washington have undergone significant changes since the PNW QWRA was released, prompting the need for an updated assessment. State and federal land management agencies, Oregon State University, and many other partners are all working on an updated assessment that will be available for the 2023 fire season.
